Amgen Senior Maintenance Technician in West Greenwich, Rhode Island
Shift: D-Shift (rotating 12 hour nights 7pm to 7am)
Reporting to D-Shift Facilities &Engineering Utilities Manager, the Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing electrical system operation and maintenance activities throughout the ARI site and for performing calibration, repair, installation, and troubleshooting of instruments, process control systems, and equipment used in manufacturing, utilities, and analytical labs.
Operate and maintain electrical power generation and distribution systems.
Operate and maintain backup power / emergency power generation systems and Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS).
Perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment and systems.
Support operation and maintenance of Building Fire Alarm systems including operating the system, disabling points and performing troubleshooting activities.
Perform instrument calibrations for process, utility and analytical equipment and systems.
Troubleshoot and repair site instrumentation and control system issues.
Ensure that calibration and repair activities are documented in an accurate and compliant manner.
Programming and troubleshooting of computer based control systems (PLC, DCS, BMS, MMI).
Interpret and update loop sheets, electrical schematics, P&ID's, I/O wiring, and panel drawings.
Ensure activities are accomplished in a safe manner.
Identify waste, work flow interrupters, and other opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and assisting with implementation.
Basic Qualifications :
Associate's degree and 4 years of Maintenance experience
High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Maintenance experience
Preferred Qualifications :
8+ years of combined education, training, and experience in industrial electric operations and maintenance and instrumentation/measurement and controls
Rhode Island Journeyman's electrician License or with ability to readily obtain
Ability to effectively communicate ideas through verbal and written form
Theoretical understanding of control, analog and/or digital electronics, microprocessors and/or computers
Effective computer skills
Ability to interact constructively with peers/teams
Provide guidance and technical advice to others
