Director, Portfolio Strategy, US, UPLIZNA (Rare Disease)
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for development and execution of portfolio strategy and business priorities for US UPLIZNA Rare Franchise. This position reports to the Head of US Marketing, UPLIZNA. The role is an important member of the UPLIZNA Leadership Team and ensures excellence throughout pre and post launch across all UPLIZNA indications. This person will lead collaboratively and ensure alignment with Global and US cross-functional teams (Medical, Commercial, Market Access, Operations, Analytics, etc.), including driving, as appropriate, cross-functional project teams, workshops, and key initiatives.
Lead the development of clear and differentiated marketing strategies and actionable plans to support the US commercialization of UPLIZNA’s rare portfolio, including initiatives for our established indication of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), and supporting the launches across multiple indications (IgG4-RD and gMG).
Collaborate with US and Global Marketing teams to align on UPLIZNA commercial strategy, brand vision, positioning, and messaging across indications. Including support of the broader UPLIZNA portfolio strategy development.
Drive the long-term commercial strategy, and unified brand planning process for all three indications. Responsible for the development of key marketing deliverables (Launch Readiness Reviews, Executive Business Updates, Brand Plans, Tactical Plans, etc.) and sharing findings with internal cross functional partners.
Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Market Access, Commercial Business Operations, etc.) to ensure alignment of unified UPLIZNA’s overarching above indication strategy and pull through.
Working with the Head of Marketing, handle the activities of the UPLIZNA Marketing Leadership Team, planning calendar, and key events.
Support the UPLIZNA leadership team to establish and maintain a communication model, operating process, and governance framework for broader team.
Track and manage team resources, including budget, partnering with Finance & Human Resources.
Support US and Global Commercial leads on the development and delivery of market insights and KPIs that inform commercial strategy, launch plans, value proposition of UPLIZNA’s portfolio, and marketing plans.
Provide commercial insights to support portfolio planning activities, helping drive strategy discussions, as well as performance updates based on business objectives.

Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree and 4 years of Marketing experience
Or
- Master’s degree and 7 years of Marketing experience
Or
- Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of Marketing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA (or equivalent, e.g., PharmD) preferred
10+ years’ experience in commercial roles in the biopharmaceutical industry or related experience (including healthcare consulting, sales, market research, etc.)
Experience in rare disease preferred
Experience working with multiple projects and managing multiple external vendors
Must have strong planning, project management, communication, and organization skills
Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams as well as direct reports
Team orientation a must
Exceptional in Microsoft Office Suite
Exceptional communications skills and professional, proactive demeanor
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Travel Requirements:
- Requires approximately 25% travel, including overnight and some weekend commitments.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
