Let’s do this! Let’s change the world! In this vital role Amgen is seeking a Senior Manager of Corporate Affairs to develop and deliver strategic global communications for Amgen's diverse Oncology portfolio. The Senior Manager will report directly to the Director of Oncology Communications.
This position can be based remotely in the US with a willingness to at times work PT hours based on company/client events and meetings.
Key responsibilities include:
Responsible for developing communication plans and materials that will drive awareness of data milestones, approvals, data publications and launches for priority assets in close partnership with the relevant Global/Regional Corporate Affairs colleagues (i.e., research & development, content strategy and media relations), and cross-functional business partners (i.e., Medical, Regulatory, Compliance, Legal, Advocacy, Value, Access and Policy).
Partner with global and regional colleagues to maximize communication opportunities and milestones.
Work in partnership with cross-functional business and corporate affairs partners to deliver high-impact, integrated communications plans
Engage with external stakeholders, including patients and healthcare professionals
Ensure Corporate Affairs resources are prioritized to deliver the greatest value
Share and adopt best practices from across the industry, Amgen regions and distributed teams
Effectively lead and deploy agency support through clear objectives, KPIs, continued drive for excellence and innovation in support of the oncology franchise

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Corporate Communications, Corporate Affairs or Marketing
OR
Master’s degree and 4 years of Corporate Communications, Corporate Affairs or Marketing
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Corporate Communications, Corporate Affairs or Marketing
OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Corporate Communications, Corporate Affairs or Marketing
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Corporate Communications, Corporate Affairs or Marketing
Preferred Qualifications:
Biotechnology, pharmaceutical or healthcare public relations and corporate experience
Bachelor’s Degree in public relations, communications or journalism or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Extensive experience managing data and milestone communications
Strong oral and presentation skills; ability to negotiate and persuade
Outstanding writing skills and attention to detail
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and deal with rapidly changing priorities
Ability to interact with all levels of management and manage staff and vendors
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to productively navigate a challenging, matrixed and dynamic environment
Understands nuances and details of specific company positions or issues that could affect communications tactics
Independently judges risks and benefits from a communication perspective and makes a persuasive case for taking calculated risks in the organization’s best interest
Shows organizational courage by tactfully challenging executives when providing communications counsel and feedback
Applies sound judgment and innovative thinking to resolve problems and maximize opportunities

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
