The Centre for Observational Research (CfOR) leads Amgen’s strategic effort to optimally leverage real world evidence (RWE) to help increase the efficiency of drug development and drug commercialisation. Scientists in CfOR lead the design, the conduct, the analysis, the interpretation, and the publication of observational research that inform the design of clinical trials; the safety, efficacy, effectiveness, and economic value of Amgen products. To ensure optimal support of Amgen business, Amgen Centre for Observational Research (CfOR) is a global organisation whose agile structure delivers strong regional teams coupled with its industry-leading analytical capability in its RWE ecosystem.
Your Role Overview:
As the Observational Research Senior Manager, you will assume responsibility for leading observational research activities that support drug development programs, regulatory submissions and post marketing safety and effectiveness of Amgen assets in many disease areas including
the cardiovascular disease area.
You are the technical expert in generating RWE for drug development and commercialisation for Amgen assets.
You will help develop, maintain and expand for the EU region, an observational research support strategy that aligns with the product global development strategy and the product commercialisation strategy, both globally and in the region.
You will develop strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to meet the product needs.
You will help lead the development of an efficient CfOR RWE Ecosystem that supports effective development and commercialization of Amgen assets in the EU.
You will plan resource allocation to accomplish multiple research projects and attain project and study timelines.
You will identify innovative, timely and cost-effective methods to conduct epidemiologic studies.
You will help build and facilitate Amgen research collaboration with local KOLs and regional societies, particularly those with specific disease registries.
You will stay abreast of developments in the field of observational research and drug development and contribute to the field.
You will promote understanding and use of observational research methods.
Your qualifications and required experience:
You have a Master’s degree in Epidemiology (or other subject with high observational research content) or Medical degree with observational research experience.
You have demonstrable experience leading pharmaco-epidemiologic research programs in a drug development environment.
You are self-motivated with the ability to develop credibility with colleagues within and outside observational research, as well as interact effectively in multi-disciplinary matrix teams to influence decisions.
You have broad experience in collaborating with internal/external research partners and in managing multiple tasks and complex projects.
You have the ability to work well within a business-driven environment, balance priorities and handle multiple tasks through careful planning, stakeholder management, project administration, and organisational skills.
You have excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate scientific evidence to peers and at scientific meetings.
Preferred experience and skills needed:
PhD degree in Epidemiology (or other subject with high observational research content) or Medical degree with observational research experience and significant experience leading observational research.
Demonstrable experience leading pharmaco-epidemiologic research programs in the cardiovascular disease area.
Experience in research project planning and management
