OBSERVATIONAL RESEARCH MANAGER

What you will do
In this vital role you will conceptualise, design, conduct, interpret and publish observational research supporting drug development programs and regulatory submissions, aiding our mission to serve patients around the world.
In this highly specialised technical/analytical role your key responsibilities include:
Leverage pharmacoepidemiological research methods to generate real-world evidence informing critical business questions
Define methodological and analytical approaches to analyse real-world data and oversee the statistical analysis
Investigate post-marketing safety and effectiveness for Amgen’s products
Operate across all our therapeutic areas and across all drug development life cycle
Work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders

The Center for Observational Research (CfOR) leads Amgen’s strategic effort to optimally leverage real world evidence (RWE) to help increase the efficiency of drug development and drug commercialisation. To ensure efficient support of Amgen business, Amgen’s CfOR is a global organisation whose agile structure delivers strong regional teams coupled with industry-leading analytical capability in its RWE ecosystem. You will be joining the well-established, dynamic European team that is based in the UK.

What we expect of you
We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. What we seek in you as an experienced professional, are these qualifications and skills:
Master’s degree or PhD in Epidemiology (or related field), or Medical degree with demonstrable observational research experience
Previous experience leading pharmaco-epidemiologic research programs in a drug development environment preferable
Self-motivated with the ability to develop credibility with colleagues within and outside observational research, as well as interact effectively in multi-disciplinary matrix teams to influence decisions
Previous experience collaborating with internal/external research partners and in managing complex projects and tasks
Experience in research project planning and management, stakeholder management and project administration
Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate scientific evidence to peers and at meetings
Excellent organisational skills
