GLOBAL SUPPLIER GOVERNANCE MANAGER
What you will do
In this vital role you will be responsible for providing ongoing supplier governance oversight, encourage sharing best practices and developing improvements.
You will work with suppliers and internal customers (typically up to Director level) to identify, manage, escalate and resolve issues related to supplier performance. You will be also responsible for measuring supplier performance, identifying, assessing and managing supplier risk as well as:
Chairing and managing supplier governance meetings
Document supplier oversight in accordance with Amgen processes
Supporting business functions with selection and development of new suppliers including identifying business needs for new suppliers and supporting final decision on selection of suppliers
Identify functional best practices and process improvements and coordinating their implementation for suppliers by:
Communicating and standardizing best practices across supplier types
Ensuring adherence to best practices by Amgen functional areas
Ensure quality oversight of SG-managed Purchase Orders (POs): SoW negotiations, funding requests through established financial processes, PO execution, ongoing budget review, and PO closure
Contribute to, and as appropriate, lead departmental and cross-functional initiatives and special projects as identified by management or business need

You would be joining a global team working as part of Amgen’s Global Development Operations function. We are tasked with ensuring appropriate governance and oversight of Global Development Operations suppliers supporting execution on Ph1-4 clinical trials. Working across the R&D organisation to maximize the value obtained from partnerships with external providers.
What we expect of you

Degree educated with proven experience in life science field
Clinical research experience (clinical research experience obtained working on clinical trials at a biotech, pharmaceutical or CRO company)
Experience at, or oversight of, clinical research suppliers in Full Service or FSP model (CROs, SMOs, Patient recruitment, data management, clinical trial technology etc).
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP), FDA regulations and guidelines and international regulatory requirements/guidelines
Project Management / project planning experience
Ability to anticipate and effectively resolve problems
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Experience working in a global, matrix organization
Collaboration and leadership skills
