The Team:

This is a new role created to support our healthcare compliance monitoring program and will join the existing Outside US Monitoring Team. Reporting into the Director Compliance, this incumbent will have scope to really shape the monitoring strategy and provide the expertise to ensure we continue to be at the forefront of what the industry is doing at the cutting edge of compliance. Working cross functionally with the Regional monitoring leads, audit, compliance and investigations teams, there is ample opportunity to develop your career and gain exposure to many business areas both within and outside of the UK.

The Role:

The Data and Transaction Monitoring Manager is responsible for providing management and executing on strategic direction in the development and execution of Amgen's international monitoring program which is a key element of Amgen's Compliance Program for all regions outside the US. The Data and Transaction Monitoring Manager will manage the day to day operations of international transactions monitoring program.


  • Lead healthcare compliance transactions monitoring operations and analytics ensuring the company maintains a state of control with respect to its interactions with the healthcare community, and is positioned to adapt to ever-changing business requirements.

  • Manage and enhance a robust, scalable, proactive, and forward-looking data and transaction monitoring program, which meets or exceeds compliance requirements.

  • Proactively identify and communicate compliance issues and opportunities on an ongoing basis through the development and management of key indicators, trend analysis and other analytics.

  • Work with Regional Monitoring Leads and Local Compliance Leads to drive improvements and increase accountability across the organization, and collaborate with Healthcare Compliance Policies, Training, Healthcare Compliance and Internal Audit, the Anti-corruption program, and Privacy among others

  • Partner to achieve excellent results with multiple stakeholders including business leadership in different countries globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executing against the overall Monitoring strategy and delivering results with key milestones

  • Support development of Monitoring plan for all ex-US locations

  • Manage Key Performance Indicators for routine compliance monitoring internationally, monitoring of trends and other analytics to proactively identify compliance risks within the organization

  • Manage process to identify hotspots and communicate trends through data analysis

  • Managing the transactional monitoring program and conduct reviews where appropriate (transactions related to Amgen Events, T&E, etc.) and ensure improvement actions are completed in a timely manner

  • Development and delivery of reports, trend analyses, along with stakeholder communications related to results

Location: This role can be based at the Uxbridge or Cambridge site

Basic qualifications/Capabilities

  • Doctorate degree, Masters degree, Bachelor's degree OR Associate's degree with demonstrated experience in a similar role OR High school diploma with extensive experience in role.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage data analytics, understand basic principles of data science, and comfortable communicating with data

  • Good written and verbal communications skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead virtual teams across cultures, geographies, and languages to implement change

  • Ability to independently understand, follow and implement complex instructions

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, deliver against critical business objectives, implement complex instructions, prioritize, be proactive, resolve conflicts, meet deadlines, follow through on assignments, and be a team player with multiple cultures, geographies and languages

Preferred Qualifications/Capabilities:

  • Experience with an emphasis on regulatory, financial legal, or compliance processes and requirements

  • Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Healthcare industry experience whilst not ideal would be beneficial
