Amgen is seeking a talented Human Resources / Learning Professional to design, launch and manage strategic programs to develop a talent pipeline of future leadership roles in Research and Development (R&D) at Amgen. The successful candidate will work closely with the research and development leadership team to understand the development gaps and needs of the organization, and implement proactive programs to address these needs.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Global Learning and Performance for R&D, this position will:

  • Manage and continuously improve rotational and project share programs to improve and build the pipeline of talent for future roles

  • Develop standards and business processes for assigned development and rotational programs

  • Complete the ongoing assessment of gaps and opportunities in the talent pipeline, and consult with executive leaders on development and career planning program opportunities

  • Partner with the Human Resource Learning and Performance team as well as the R&D functional learning team to ensure tight alignment of Learning and Development systems and processes

  • Identify and continuously monitor meaningful measures to assess program effectiveness and business impact

Oversee all aspects of assigned programs, including:

  • Set the agenda and lead the executive-level governance committees responsible for overseeing assigned program(s)

  • Manage the application and selection process for assigned programs, partnering with HRBPs and others

  • Working with leaders in R&D, identify domestic and international rotation opportunities within the organization and facilitate placement candidates into rotation assignments

  • Provide clarity for participants, their managers and mentors to ensure smooth on-boarding and transitioning between roles

  • Provide end-to-end participant care through effective on-boarding of program participants and support throughout their rotation or development assignments

  • Manage the assignment and development of program mentors for participants, as applicable

  • Foster a sense of community with rotation & development program participants

  • Identify and report on program success metrics and talent development metrics

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree & 2 years of Training experience

OR

Bachelor's degree & 4 years of Training experience

OR

Associate's degree & 10 years of Training experience

OR

High school diploma / GED & 12 years of Training experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's degree in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology, Human Resources, Organizational Development.

  • Previous experience in human resources, enterprise learning, recruiting and/or leadership development roles

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels, including senior management

  • Ability to lead, plan, organize and implement client-focused projects involving behavioral and/or cultural change

  • Demonstrated strong project management skills with experience managing large projects involving multiple functions and shared accountabilities.

  • Strong analytical skills and understanding how to use data to inform program design.

  • Ability to balance a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and competing demands.

  • Self-directed and willing to take informed risks.

  • Detail-oriented, resourceful and able to manage shifting priorities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Previous experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
