What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will perform fluorescence microscopy imaging studies using confocal microscopy to characterize sub-cellular localizations of proteins or organelles. You will join our Induced Proximity Platform (IPP) team, which specializes in the emerging proximity-based drug discovery programs for Oncology, Cardiometabolic, and Inflammation targets. We seek to understand these newer waves of proximity-inducing drugs and characterize their mechanisms of action at a sub-cellular level.
The successful candidate will join our highly enthusiastic team of scientists to develop and characterize visualization tools and use appropriate microscopy to understand the mode of action of our proximity-inducing molecules. A consistent track record of working and publishing high-quality imaging-based science in a related field and have in-depth expertise in confocal microscopy skills is required.
Responsibilities:
Routinely culture and prepare mammalian cell line samples as needed for imaging
Prepare and optimize fluorescence reagents and specimens for imaging
Use confocal microscopy to collect still or time-lapse images using fixed or live specimens
Perform image analysis and quantitation using software such as ImageJ, CellProfiler, Photoshop
Manage and maintain imaging instruments as needed
Provide guidance and support for various imaging projects within the IPP team
Keep clear records of experimental details, raw and processed data
Present research findings to IPP leadership and other cross-functional teams on time

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree or
Master’s degree & 3 years of directly related research experience or
Bachelor’s degree & 5years of directly related research experience and
Advanced and proficient understanding and use of technical principles, theories, and concepts to perform an expansive range of work in a role and
Basic knowledge of related and adjacent disciplinary areas.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with designing and developing appropriate imaging reagents to assess subcellular phenomena using exceptional quality images and movies
Experience with point scanning and spinning disk confocal microscopy and deconvolution techniques
Demonstrated ability to perform image analysis and familiarity with ImageJ, CellProfiler, Photoshop
Experience with IncuCyte and other High Content Imaging instruments
Mammalian cell culture and immunofluorescence experience
Ability to work in teams collaboratively to develop and optimize appropriate imaging tools set up experiments, and acquire images
A highly independent and self-driven scientist who can drive complete discovery efforts on time with minimal everyday guidance
