Amgen Sr Mgr Medical Operations in Thousand Oaks, California
Global Medical Operations Team is looking for a Senior Manager of Medical Operations who will lead and oversee the systems and analytical reporting capability for the Global Medical organization.
Reporting to the Director Medical Operations, this global position will partner with cross functional teams as well as the IS to ensure timely and quality delivery as well as optimum implementation of the systems and analytics capabilities to support fulfillment of our vision to track, measure, communicate and escalate performance across Medical capabilities is essential to attaining our vision of being recognized as the most accomplished and respected Medical organization by 2022
This individual achieves results through rigorous goal setting, accountability measures, effective teamwork, performance management, collaboration with other groups and a commitment to serving customers both inside and outside of Global Medical Operations. This individual will ensure a focus on timely quality delivery as well as consistency across all systems and analytics components. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:
Plan and oversee delivery of systems and analytics reporting to support various global medical capabilities and goals
Plan and oversee delivery of KPIs, metrics and other analytics on an ongoing basis while continuously improving and innovating for higher performance
Develop, review and implement policies, SOPs and associated technical documents, in partnership with Global Medical Operations Process area
Maintain systems validation documentation and other regulatory documentation in partnership with Information Systems
Oversee quality controls and assist in response to audit findings
Manage, monitor and mitigate risk and report on progress of systems and reporting projects
Budget and forecast accuracy within area of responsibility
Recruit, coach, mentor and develop team members
System implementation and maintenance
Global Medical systems implementation, maintenance and upgrades
Doctorate degree and 2 years of technology process management
Master's degree and 6 years of technology process management
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of technology process management
Associate's degree and 10 years of technology process management experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of technology process management experience
2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Advanced degree in life science, computer science or related discipline
8+ years' work experience in information technologies/information systems and analytics platforms and reporting technology
Previous experience with oversight of information system vendors and analytics vendors
Strong understanding and experience in the use of performance management techniques, measures, problem solving and analytical thinking
Finance and budget management experience
Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry guidelines and legal/health system environment
Advanced skills in application software and analytical development methodologies in a validated system environment
Proficient in analytical and interpretation activities and able to present insights based on business acumen and subject matter expertise to a wide variety of audiences in both written and verbal formats
Experience in a role conduction operational excellence: management skills, planning, prioritization, decision making, objective setting, and plan execution.
