Amgen Sr. Associate Vendor Management in Thousand Oaks, California

Under general guidance of (Sr.) Manager GCSC, manage the following responsibilities:

  • Daily management of assigned LSP/TSP and active handling all issues and developments

  • Maintain detailed knowledge on LSP/TSP operations

  • Regular performance and business reviews with LSP/TSPs on current business, escalations, reporting and improvements.

  • Drive root cause analysis and performance analysis and risk assessment, develop action plans to improve or mitigate risk with departments involved. Keep track of issues and input for BRM and audits.

  • Drive implementation of new capabilities/ new process requirements and process improvements at assigned LSP/ TSP or on a global scale.

  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and developments in logistics including and provide expert advice for development of new process, approaches and strategies in the supply chain

  • Maintain excellent relationship with LSP/TSPs on facility and partner level, making sure Amgenā€™s interests are served to the maximum.

  • Maintain and manage agreements with LSP/TSPs and actively review periodically.

  • Escalate LSP/TSP audit findings if auditors have issues getting acceptable responses

  • Develop and maintain department SOPs and other controlled documents on LSP/TSP management

  • Seek structural improvements and cost saving opportunities in processes internally and with LSP/TSPs on global level. Execute on those under minimal guidance and report progress

  • Liaise with global counterparts, relevant departments and networks to ensure global alignment on LSP/TSP management

  • Own quality records related to LSP/ TSP activities ā€“ NC/ CAPA, change control

  • Manage other projects as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree & no Supply Chain experience OR

  • Bachelor's Degree & 2 years of Supply Chain experience OR

  • Associate's degree & 6 years of Supply Chain experience OR

  • High school diploma/GED & 10 years of Supply Chain experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in logistics, business administration or life science and 5 years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry

  • Knowledge of clinical supply chain management

  • Experience in using ERP systems, i.e. SAP

  • Result focused and proven ability to deliver results

  • Independent self-starter, able to work autonomously, under pressure and in teams

  • Project Management

  • Experience managing suppliers and improving processes

  • Quick process understanding, insight and visualizing

  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Problem solver with strong sense of responsibility
