Amgen Sr Associate Scientist - Discovery Attribute Sciences in Thousand Oaks, California
The successful candidate will supoprt drug discovery teams through the development and use of chromatographic and/or spectroscopic methods for the analysis and purification of small and hybrid molecules (peptides, siRNA, oligonucleotides) to support drug discovery activities.
Utilization of a diverse set of instruments and technologies, such as (but not limited to) HPLC, SFC-MS, HPLC-MS, mass-directed purification and preparative SFC are necessary.
The successful candidate is also expected to assist in research efforts directed at improving process efficiencies, expanding the range of assays and applications and improving technologies and infrastructure.
Master's degree and 3 years of scientific experience
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of scientific expereince
A Bachelors or Masters degree in organic chemistry, analytical chemistry
6+ years of relevant experience with chromatographic analysis and/or purification of small molecules in a pharmaceutical R&D environment.
Exposure to LC/MS, mass directed purification, analytical/preparative SFC
Knowledge of other analytical techniques (NMR, MS)
