Amgen Sr. Associate Project Mgmt. in Thousand Oaks, California

Amgen is seeking a talented professional to provide project coordination and delivery support of talent programs aimed at providing experiential learning to Research and Development (R&D) staff at Amgen. The successful candidate will work closely with human resources (HR) and the learning and performance teams to successfully deploy new talent development programs.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Learning and Performance (R&D), this position will:

  • Support the execution and maintenance of the R&D rotational and project share programs, under the guidance of the program manager

  • Coordinate logistics related to instructor-led training and manager roundtables

  • Develop communication campaign, content curation, and maintenance of the R&D Global Talent SharePoint site

  • Partner with the HR to schedule and host quarterly speaker series engagements

  • Assist in the collection and development of quarterly dashboard based on metrics data related to talent development programs

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Learning & Development, Human Resources or Project Management experience

OR

Associate degree and 10 years of Learning & Development, Human Resources or Project Management experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Learning & Development, Human Resources or Project Management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in human resources, project management or learning and development roles

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels, including senior management

  • Demonstrated strong project management skills with experience managing large projects involving multiple functions and shared accountabilities

  • Strong analytical skills and understanding how to use data to inform program design

  • Ability to balance a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and competing demands

  • Self-directed and willing to take informed risks

  • Detail-oriented, resourceful and able to manage shifting priorities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with building/maintaining Microsoft SharePoint websites

  • Previous experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
