Amgen Sr Associate IS Bus Systems Analyst in Thousand Oaks, California

Amgen is seeking a Sr. Associate IS Business Systems Analyst at our corporate campus in Thousand Oaks, CA to join the Global Commercial Operations Information Systems (GCOIS) group and support US Value & Access business operations. This role requires hands-on technical experience to design, develop, implement and support the functional area's SaaS/cloud applications and associated integrations, provide data management across the customer engagement, contracting and pricing ecosystem, and deliver workflow, process automation, and business analytics capabilities. This includes processes and applications with predictive and cognitive capabilities.

The role requires hands-on working knowledge of Amazon's cloud services, API integration, microservices development, data and process workflow management, robotic process automation / cognitive automation, and data analytics and visualization. The candidate must have prior experience delivering and supporting software applications built on modern cloud platforms using DevOps and Agile principles. The role is multi-dimensional and requires technical design and hands-on development capabilities in addition to business systems analysis. The role requires cross-functional engagement with business IS stakeholders and vendor partners to drive and deliver technology services and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, support and enhance technology solutions and integration across the ecosystem using Agile and DevOps principles

  • Drive innovation and service improvement via short cycle activities that pilot new technology capabilities, assist in business case and ROI development, and drive implementation to scale up

  • Develop and articulate insights into technology trends that are relevant to the contracts and pricing IT landscape including B2B cloud integrations, robotic process automation, AI, machine learning, and business analytics

  • Partner with cross functional stakeholders to develop relevant technology roadmaps for the US Value & Access IT services that will evolve capabilities in alignment with business and IT strategies and goals

  • Develop deep understanding of Amgen's US customer engagement, contracting and pricing business processes, data, and supporting IT platforms

Basic Qualifications

Master's degree in Information Systems or Engineering

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associate's degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in software engineering, Agile practices, DevOps, and Test automation. Familiarity with relevant tools like Git, Jenkins, TFS, etc.

  • Hands on development experience in one more of modern programming languages (e.g., C#/.Net, Java, Python, JavaScript)

  • Hands-on experience with one or more commercial or open source data integration tools (e.g., Apache, Spark, Hive, Hadoop, Snaplogic, Mule ESB)

  • Hands-on experience with developing business insights using data transformation and business analytics tools (Databricks, Alteryx, Tableau)

  • Familiarity with AWS or other major cloud providers' capabilities and tools

  • Proven learning agility, analytical thinking and problem-solving capability

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills (i.e. effectively promote and negotiate business cases or ideas; influence stakeholders using data and insights)

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment. Self-starter with hands-on attitude

  • Experience collaborating and achieving results across highly matrixed organization, including non-technical stakeholders, compliance teams, IS peers, vendors and other IT teams
