In this vital role as Software Engineer you will work within the Operations Digital Technology and Innovation (Ops DTI) group to support the Process Development (PD) organization across various groundbreaking DTI initiatives. The exceptional candidate will be a critical member of a client facing Product Team, work collaboratively with the multi-functional business and technology teams in an agile manner to develop, deliver, operate and continuously improve solutions in a manner that is scalable, secure, and aligns to standard methodologies. This team will have a focus on Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) as a strategic platform for digitizing Amgen’s product development and commercial advancement

Preferred location is Thousand Oaks, CA or Tampa FL. Hybrid or Remote work can be considered

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement IS solutions to enable end to end digitization of product information and data across Operations.

  • Actively engage with business users to analyze business needs, identify technology solutions gather and document design guided by best practices in Agile solution development.

  • Perform hands-on development of technology solutions including configuration of commercial software as well as extensions and integrations through coding/custom development

  • Manage solution development as well as oversee supporting team of external consultants

  • Collaborate with DTI Architects and System Owners to implement an integrated solution across PLM, ERP, MES, Enterprise Data Lake, and lab execution systems

  • Review project deliverables throughout development to ensure quality and traceability to requirements and adherence to all quality management plans andstandards. Participate in IS quality validation (GxP) reviews.

  • Oversee the backlog of requirements/user stories

  • Support day-to-day sustainment and production run support activities

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate Degree

OR

Master's Degree AND 2 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelor's Degree AND 4 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associate's degree AND 10 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma/GED AND 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • In depth knowledge and hands on technical design and development experience with Dassault Systemes 3DExperience (3DX) platform including, but not limited toENOVIA, BIOVIA, and DELMIA.

  • Demonstratable experience in technical design to create configurations and customizations within Dassault 3DX Platform, preferably in life science applications.

  • Experience in integration between PLM and other business, manufacturing, and laboratory systems common in pharmaceutical industry (e.g. such as SAP, MES)

  • Experience building productive working relationships with business clients and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements as well as develop technical design in the PLM platform.

  • Solid understanding of PLM architecture and configuration, including interfaces, item libraries, engineering change orders (ECOs), Bills of Materials (BOM) management, and lifecycle states.

  • Familiarity with PLM practices in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries is preferable; experience with the composition and assembly of filing submissions within the Bio-Pharma lifecycle a plus

  • Hands on experience with best practices in software engineering includingunit and integration testing, software validation process, documentation, version control, automated deployment activities, Go-Live and cutover activities.

  • Working knowledge of DevOps, Agile Software Development methodologies and tools.

  • Experience with integration standards, including Web Services, SOAP, REST, as well asmiddleware platforms, preferably MuleSoft

  • Good overall understanding of business, manufacturing, and laboratory systems common inthepharmaceutical industry, as well as the integration of these systems through applicablestandards.

  • Understanding of FDA regulations governing computer system validation and operation inbiotech manufacturing and laboratory areas.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to setthe context and present on complex subjects to senior management in a clear and concisemanner.
