Amgen Senior Manager of Master Data Management in Thousand Oaks, California
Amgen is seeking a Senior Manager of Master Data Management in our global headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA to lead Information Systems (IS) services for US Commercial Master Data Management (MDM). The Senior Manager of MDM, functioning as a Sr. Manager of IS, will report to the IS Director of US Commercial Data & Analytics.
The Senior Manager of Master Data Management collaborates with Commercial Information Management (CIM) business partners and other IS service leads to define IS strategy and road map in support of CIM MDM business strategy and goals. The Incumbent will be part of a cross functional data governance team to ensure timely and accurate data for business analysis and decision making. Additionally, the Senior Manager will oversee the team responsible for managing patient mastering and integration services whilst partnering with US Value and Access Teams, BAI (Payer & Patient Analytics), Patient Data Management, Multi-Channel Marketing and Reporting Center of Excellent (CoE) to enable the cross-functional execution of Patient Analytics and strategies. As such, the Senior Manager will frequently interact with Executive leadership of the organization necessitating excellent communication skills.
Key Activities of the Senior Manager include:
Develops and executes the US Commercial MDM strategy, including Patient, Customer and Product domains
Delivers MDM service for the commercial organization in alignment with business and IS strategy
Manages partnership with CIM to develop and execute IS MDM capability multi-year roadmap
Shapes Amgen's future IS roadmaps - track and evaluate business and technology trends, connect and foster external networking opportunities to deliver valuable insight from other similar professionals in our industry
Leads and implements Patient MDM for Patient Support Services, Multi-Channel Marketing, CRM, Reporting and Analytics
Develops and oversees ongoing Patient Master Data Governance & Administration for both operational and analytical needs
Develops and manages the execution of match logic to link patient level data from various internal and external data sources (CRM, pharmacy, Hubs, etc.) with Provider & Payer for use by analytics teams
Collaborates with CIM teams to ensure timely updates and access to Patient data assets
Provides oversight and direction to IS resources and Data Stewardship team assigned to steward Patient Level Data, Customer and Product master data.
Assesses new / innovative ideas and development of business case with ROI for new service enhancements / technology projects
Provides continuous service improvements by reducing cycle time for delivery of projects and overall run cost of service
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems and/or Data Management experience
Master's degree and 6 years of Information Systems and/or Data Management experience
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Information Systems and/or Data Management experience
Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems and/or Data Management experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems and/or Data Management experience
2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Strong understanding of the legal / regulatory requirements related to managing sensitive patient level data (i.e. HIPAA, HITECH, etc.).
Proven experience overseeing the management of patient level data in a pharmaceutical manufacturer ecosystem
Understand patient data needs and requirements for all aspects of the patient journey
Ability to manage in a highly fluid, interactive, matrix environment and build strong, successful business partnerships
Demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically approach problem solving, and manage execution
Demonstrated ability to plan strategically, identify strategic options and trade-offs
Excellent oral / written communications skills and interpersonal skills
Extensive experience with patient data and customer support services (Hub, Patient CRM, etc.)
Experience with master data management, transactional data, data governance, and stewardship
Experience with patient, customer and product data
Prior use of Master Data Management Solutions
Possess qualities such as, strong organizational skills, self-starter, and detail-oriented
Demonstrated ability to effectively produce business results, while working under time pressures and in a matrix organization
Vendor management skills
