Amgen Senior Associate Paralegal -- Procurement Contracting in Thousand Oaks, California

This Senior Associate Paralegal role provides procurement-related contracting support to Global Business Services group within the company (specifically, Global Strategic Sourcing, Buying Center, and External Workforce Center). This position drafts and negotiates a variety of procurement and procurement-related contracts and supports the development of resources (including templates, negotiation guides, and training materials) useful in procurement.

Responsibilities include:

Working under general direction and supervision of an attorney or paralegal to provide legal support on a wide array of business contracting issues

Drafting and negotiating high volume of contracts in time sensitive environment

Communicating (written and orally) with internal clients and external partie

Creating, supporting and delivering training in defined areas

Undertaking special projects as assigned

Working in relevant systems and with relevant processes

Understanding and complying with all relevant procedures and policies

Basic Qualifications:

Master's Degree


Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of legal experience


Associate's Degree and 6 years of legal experience


High School Diploma/GED and 8 years of legal experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of an ABA-approved paralegal program

4+ years of experience in a paralegal role drafting and negotiating contracts

Experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, or regulatory law
