Amgen Thousand Oaks is looking for a Senior Associate Facilities within Amgens Manufacturing & Clinical Supply Drug Substance Supply Organisation to provide maintenance leadership and technical expertise in support of facility equipment/systems, utility systems, and/or production suites. The Senior Associate Facilities ensures that systems operate within designed parameters and align with all safety and cGMP guidelines and Amgen procedures. The area of responsibility may consist of multiple facilities, subject areas, or clients. The Senior Associate Facilities works to minimize the impact of maintenance activities on production while maintaining a high level of reliability and quality.
Responsibilities include:
Directing, planning, and delegating tasks to personnel in daily operations, corrective action, and preventative maintenance activities in a reliable and compliant manner. This includes, but is not limited to, maintenance and emergency repair of all production-related utilities and facility equipment that support GMP production, such as HVAC, HEPA certifications, pressure cascades, water purification systems, plant and clean steam, chillers, and clean gas systems.
Creating, editing, or obsoleting training materials for associated equipment systems and evaluating staff proficiency and qualification records.
Developing and maintaining the current repair job plans and spare parts inventory control for associated equipment.
Interacting with various support teams for integrated contracted partners for calibration support and outside vendors that provide contracted maintenance.
Managing and overseeing the performance and compliance of contractors, suppliers, and vendors that support the facility and utility systems, ensuring that they adhere to Amgen standards and contractual obligations.
Working closely with the Global Facility Office (GFO) partners on projects and deliverables related to the facility and utility systems, providing input and feedback, and ensuring alignment and coordination.
Assuring that quality and safety change control procedures are followed and changes are approved prior to execution and purchases are authorized.
Working in accordance with CFRs, cGMPs, SOPs, and Amgen policies.
Participating in on-call rotations for after-hours facility and manufacturing support and working outside of established shift hours upon short notice, as needed.
Understanding room classification and gowning requirements, alarms and associated subject matter expertise, and fundamental control system strategy and logic to solve and provide data trends from EMS/BMS/USC systems.

Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of maintenance experience OR Associate’s degree and 6 years of maintenance experience OR High school diploma / GED and 8 years of maintenance experience
Preferred Qualifications:
2-year technical/AA/AS degree in building maintenance, mechanical maintenance, plant engineering, or related technical field.
7+ years of combined education and experience with 4+ years in an FDA (GMP) or comparable regulated environment.
Experience with RCA facilitation and participation, RCM, TPM, or other reliability-centered concepts, and installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and testing of HVAC, laboratory, and utilities equipment.
Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic fundamentals, as well as advanced skills in the use of power and hand tools in the building trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, and electrical.
Effective oral and written communication skills, high mathematical understanding, excellent reading skills, and intermediate to advanced computer and typing skills.
