Project Manager - Process Development


What you will do

Let’s do this! Let’s change the world! In this vital role, you will be part of our Global Operations Planning & CMC Integration team, based on our main corporate campus in California; and will report to our Research Operations Sr Manager. As the PD Project Manager you will be responsible for integrating Process Development (PD) activities by developing and maintaining project directives for Amgen's pipeline projects. In addition, the Project Manager will also partner with Process Development functional leads to identify key results and will ensure cross functional alignment and accountability.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with technical and/or Product Delivery teams crafting project timeline that align with PD prioritization

  • Assist PD in driving decision making using DAI principles

  • Ensure participation in functional and cross functional management reviews

  • Establish and run collaboration and team sites (e.g. Sharepoint)

  • Track delivery and create repositories for all PD results (Tech Reports)

  • Partner with Business Analysis and Performance to report product metrics

  • Facilitate and incorporate lessons learned, standard methodologies, etc.

  • Support Business Process improvements, including alignment with CMCX


What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED & 12 years of Project Management and/or Operations experience; OR

  • Associate's degree & 10 years of Project Management and/or Operations experience; OR

  • Bachelor's Degree & 4 years of Project Management and/or Operations experience; OR

  • Master's Degree & 2 years of Project Management and/or Operations experience; OR

  • Doctorate Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or other Healthcare-related field

  • Direct CMC experience

  • Experience in an environment requiring one to foster collaboration and work effectively on cross-functional teams

  • Strong interpersonal and communication experience with the ability to effectively interface across all levels of the organization

  • Experience utilizing critical thinking and problem resolving skills to achieve results

  • Experience applying standard Project Management tools, and practices

  • Experience with MS Project, Excel and SharePoint
