Amgen Project Controls Sr Mgr in Thousand Oaks, California

The Project Controls Senior Manager will be responsible providing Project Controls Services for a portfolio of Construction projects across Amgen facilities. The Project Controls Senior Manager partners with the project managers to ensure projects meet cost, schedule and business objectives thereby enabling efficient use of Amgen's capital investments and deliver ongoing Productivity improvements.

The Project Controls Senior Manager will report into the Capital Project Execution and Controls (CPEC) organization. The CPEC organization executes a global portfolio of projects which range in complexity from simple administration of tenant improvements, state of the art research and development laboratories and complex next generation manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will interface with all levels of management across functional areas.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provision of Project Controls Services for a portfolio of projects

  • Prepare monthly project status reports for senior management

  • Preparation of Project Estimates

  • Assist project managers in developing project strategies

  • Assist in the preparation of funding documents

  • Assist with Capital and Expense planning

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of project controls or related experience

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of project controls or related experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of project controls or related experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of project controls or related experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of project controls or related experience

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries or similar industry

  • 10+ years of experience in project controls or similar (Cost Control, Scheduling, and Estimating)

  • Strong technical knowledge in construction cost and schedule management.

  • Strong analytical skills for estimate analysis, bid evaluations, budget monitoring, cash flow analysis, risk analysis and benchmarking project costs

  • Proficient in estimating from conceptual through definitive construction estimates

  • Proficient in the use of typical construction management software systems
