Amgen Process Development Sr. Associate in Thousand Oaks, California
The Cellular Sciences department is seeking a Sr. Associate to join our Cell Bank and Critical Reagent Group. The primary focus will include purifying monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies, conjugating proteins, creating cell banks for cell-based bioassays and GMP production, and managing a complex inventory database.
Perform cell banking operations according to cGMP which include aseptic operations for cell culture scale-up and freeze of mammalian cell banks.
Culturing adherent and suspension cell lines to create large cell banks for use in Quality Control cell-based assays. Manage inventory and assess usage rates across the QC network.
Assess, develop and implement process improvements for generation of cell banks
Additional Critical Reagent production includes: protein purification, DNA isolation, protein conjugations and management of all Critical Reagents
Developing and enhancing scientific and technical skills
The successful candidate will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Cell Line Development.
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of scientific experience
Associate's degree and 6 years of scientific experience
High school diploma / GED and 8 years of scientific experience
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of scientific experience in cell culture laboratory
Experience in cell culture, cell biology techniques, and cryopreservation
Experience with both adherent and suspension cell lines utilizing various vessels/bioreactors (flasks, shakers, WAVE)
Detail oriented and excellent documentation skills
Client orientation- supports effective and responsive relationships with all clients and ensures value is delivered
Communication and Interpersonal skills - communicates effectively with others, using appropriate diplomacy and sensitivity; makes others feel respected, valued and understood; works well in teams
