Process Development Senior Associate - Pre-Pivotal Attribute Sciences
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will join Amgen's Amgen’s Attribute Sciences (AS) department within the Process Development (PD) organization. This team defines the favorable quality characteristics of the therapies it produces, and optimizes state-of-the-art analytical tools to guide that development. The Pre-Pivotal Attribute Sciences organization focuses on developing analytical methods and tools to advance a wide range of therapeutic modalities, including (but not limited to) monoclonal and bispecific antibodies, bispecific T-cell engagers (“BiTEs”), live oncolytic viruses, and synthetic medicines from the discovery stage to FIH clinical trials.
AS plans/performs/monitors experiments, records/organizes data and analyzes/generates robust and reliable results. The role will ensure that contracted studies are conducted in compliance with the respective protocol and applicable guidelines and regulations
Monitors or follows established experimental design and protocols and performs routine tasks and studies to obtain reproducible and reliable results with limited supervision.
Plans, monitors or conducts, analyzes and records experiments, and provides interpretation of data.
Effectively transfers experimental methods from literature to the lab and makes modifications as necessary.
Develops and implements new protocols with moderate review.
Engages coworkers in scientific discussions. Communicates data and interpretation to work group.
Effectively trouble-shoots equipment and experimental difficulties.
Contributes to internal/external reports, papers, presentations, regulatory documents, invention disclosure submissions and/or patents.
Participates in department-wide support efforts such as safety, recruiting and committees. May train staff and/or supervise others.
What we expect of you
We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The lab-based professional we seek is a scientist with these qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of lab-based science industry experience
BS in Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry
Minimum 2 years of experience working in a biopharmaceutical working environment
HPLC/UPLC based separations (SEC, CEX etc.)
Experience with electronic lab notebooks and document management systems
Willingness to learn new techniques such as mass spectrometry
Skilled at developing systems to ensure quality data.
Skilled and/or knowledgeable in the use of standard laboratory equipment and with one or more major laboratory instruments/techniques.
Coordinates and organizes resources needed to complete the task.
Understands when to seek input and when to make independent judgments.
