Process Development Scientist – Pivotal Synthetic Drug Product Technology
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will serve as part of the Drug Product Team (DPT) providing creative functional area strategies, crafting and executing DOE’s during the development of pivotal and commercial ready programs.
Be a part of cross-functional teams and work towards innovative and fast pace development approaches
Interface within the DPT department and with other Amgen functions, such as Drug Substance Technologies, Attribute Sciences, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Contract Manufacturing, Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism, Clinical Development, Biostatistics, etc.
This Amgen’s leader will be a part of cross-functional teams and work towards innovative and fast pace development approaches
The individual will effectively interface within the DPT department and with other Amgen functions, such as Drug Substance Technologies, Attribute Sciences, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Contract Manufacturing, Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism, Clinical Development, Biostatistics, etc.
Individual will help craft and execute experiments
Individual will summarize results in technical documents, regulatory filings and presentations
In addition, this role will have proactive and effective interaction with external industrial (eg. IQ consortium) and academic groups (eg. University consortia)
What we expect of you

Master’s degree and 4 years of scientific related experience
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of scientific related experience
Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Material Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other relevant scientific fields
Experience in pharmaceutical industry with emphasis, but not limited to multiparticulate dosage forms
Experience on parenteral and or pediatric formulations, and unique dosage forms
Experience in patent application process basics and an awareness of national and regional laws, making up the international legal framework for patents is preferred.
Experience on the application of physics-based (such as discrete element models, computational fluid dynamics, finite element analysis) engineering (conservation laws), to better understand, control, develop and improve pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
In depth understanding of unit operations for the manufacture of oral solid dosage forms
Experience in optimization and scale-up studies using QbD principles
Experience in mathematical modeling (statistical models such as LVM) techniques
Design, completion and conduction of independent formulation research
Evidence of a publication record
