What you will do

The Oral & Enabling Delivery Systems Group within the Drug Product Technologies department is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and team-oriented member for the position of Associate Scientist. In this role, the individual will serve as a member of Drug Product development teams, providing formulation and process expertise during the development of clinical trial drug product.


  • The individual will interface within the Drug Product Technologies department (ie. Synthetic Enabling Technologies, Material Sciences, etc.) and with external functions, such as Drug Substance, Attribute Sciences, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Contract Manufacturing, etc.

  • The Associate Scientist will be involved in designing and executing formulation experiments, organizing, and analyzing results as well as communicating and presenting in team meetings.

  • The experimental results will lead to the best possible phase appropriate formulations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or Master's degree by March 2023 and 2 years of scientific experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS and or MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Material Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other relevant field with 6+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry (an emphasis on oral solid dosage forms is required).

  • Understanding typical unit operations for the manufacture of oral solid dosage forms (i.e. granulation, roller compaction, drying, milling, blending, compression, film coating, etc.) and material characterization of powders is expected.

  • A high level of proficiency using Roller Compaction equipment with different configurations is a major plus.

  • Experience interacting with Contract Research/Manufacturing Organizations is desirable.
