Amgen is seeking a Principal Solution Architect (IS) at its main headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA to join the Operations IS (OIS) group reporting to the Director, Operations IS - Process Development and will be responsible for leading the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) program as part of Amgen Full Potential (AFP - transformational initiative) IS for Process Development (IS4PD) initiative, including all IS related activities and oversee the solution architecture associated with the program from ideation to delivery as well as long term ownership of platforms and processes.

Travel: International and domestic travel up to 20%

Responsibilities:

Oversee the architecture and implementation of IS solutions that enable PLM capabilities across Operations and integrate with ongoing Amgen initiatives such as Product Variations & Regulated Document Management (PV&RDM)

Responsible for driving the PLM solution architecture, design, and delivery that meets intended business outcomes

Lead a highly cross functional team of IS & Business professionals across various functions ensuring continued collaboration & alignment within the team to contribute to the overall success of the program

As the technical point of contact for any PLM IS needs develop a detailed understanding of underlying technologies and related capabilities including deployment strategies. Focus is on product configurations, bills of materials, drug manufacturing processes, product change control, and device engineering

Ensure IS representation at governance meetings to develop, support and maintain business and IS strategy during the program deployment stages

Work across business organizations to create and maintain an integrated approach to process development, manufacturing, and quality and R&D

Drive and maintain PLM's platform in conjunction with Amgen's IS platform strategy

Create strong partnerships with other Operations IS, R&D and linkage with the Corporate OIS team

Define long term ownership of the platforms and processes supporting the program.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Master's degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of PLM technology landscape; depth in Oracle Agile PLM

Extensive experience (5+ years) implementing PLM at a large scale across multiple business functions

Ability to create and present content in front of an executive audience

Understanding of ISA95 operations systems architecture; understanding of S88 recipe standards

Experienced in the delivery of large cross functional projects using Agile/Scrum Methodology

Ability to manage, drive and influence a highly cross functional team

Ability to ensure effective business engagement and alignment across multiple functions

Ability to translate business requirements in to Product Backlog for delivery

Experience delivering IS solutions in a regulated environment

Project management skills necessary to lead a program with multiple threads including planning, change control, master data strategy and document management

Work independently and have demonstrated capability to manage large complex project over $10M

Experience with long term ownership of technology platforms and processes including both 'Build' (develop) and 'Run' (maintain)

Big 5 consulting experience

Agile scrum certification
