Amgen Principal IS Business Systems Analyst - Content Management and Project Leadership in Thousand Oaks, California
Amgen is seeking a Principal IS (Information Systems) Business Systems Analyst - Content Management and Project Leadership who will work on our Analytics and Knowledge Management (AKM) team. The Principal will report to the Senior Manager of Data and Analytics and will work out of our Amgen's global headquarters in Thousand Oaks, California.
The Principal plays an integral role in building a holistic view and roadmap of the company's information technology strategy, processes and platforms so as to deliver on the company's mission and vision. Accordingly, the Incumbent partners with both functional IS leads, business leads and technology partners to ensure that proposed technical solutions align with the company's overall objectives and enterprise architecture direction.
The Principal will support major regulated content management processes and content through technology solutions across multiple functions at AMGEN as well as for selected platforms for non-regulated content management. The Incumbent will have the responsibilities outlined below and will lead a team of IS professionals who are delivering on the EDM service objectives. The Principal will partner effectively with business owners of regulated and non-regulated content as well as with other IS / GBS teams to assure focus on business value and alignment to the overall IS, GBS and AMGEN business strategies.
AKM services include Advanced Analytics and Data Integration, Big Data technology services, Information Discovery and Search, Information Architecture, Knowledge Management (KM) and
Regulated Content Management.
Key Activities of the Principal include:
Establishes service objectives, outcome and required maturity and sets financial plan including ROI
Develops service life cycle plan in alignment with business and IS strategy and drives service adoption through change management
Establishes change and communication strategy and negotiates service level and operating level agreements with vendors and business partners
Assesses and benchmarks competitive market landscape as well as manages service sourcing strategy (internal and external) by incorporating service best practices
Manages service lifecycle; develop success metrics; identify redundancies and dependencies on other services; drive service and release targets
Ensures service quality, manages budget and service inventory (licenses, assets, etc.)
Manages risk and compliance by adhering to legal and regulatory guidelines and establishing policies and SOPs
Manages service team and resources including sourcing and manages vendor relationships and hold internal/external suppliers accountable via formal agreements (ARM leadership)
Accountable for the successful delivery of the major Amgen Full Potential (AFP) IS solution(s) against timeline, scope, and budget
Works with AFP Initiative IS Lead and Initiative Lead to ensure budget allocation and funding availability
Ensures cross-communication and coordination across systems elements of project workstreams
Manages vendor relationship on a strategic and tactical level; including setting expectations and escalation path
Communicates status, issues, risks and ensure escalation to appropriate audiences (executive, program, etc.)
Ensures vendors meet R&Rs, timelines and Amgen expectations
Master's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience
Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience
5+ years' experience of healthcare industry experience focused on Document Management Solution(s)
Able to successfully launch, and manage product offerings for Regulated Content Management Service
Hands-on experience in architecting/ Building/Configuring products based on Documentum or Veeva platform
Experience managing the end-to-end delivery of complex projects. Track record of successful delivery of projects
Track record of managing successful service maintenance and evolution
