Amgen Observational Research Sr Mgr in Thousand Oaks, California

The Observational Research Sr Mgr is responsible for reviewing, guiding and conducting high-quality research to support development of addressable population forecasts.Defends the methods, data sources, and inputs into addressable population forecasts. Explains differences in disease state epidemiology and treatment landscapes across key countries.Develops deep understanding of commercial product strategy to help shape patient research and analysis. Helps shape scenarios around evolving treatment landscapes in the marketContributes to 'lessons learned' discussions post-product launch. Promotes epidemiologic awareness within Global, US and Regional Marketing teams (Marketing Leads, Business Analysis & Insights, Forecasting Directors and Managers). Promotes understanding within CfOR of commercial implications to R&D activities. Communicates significant scientific information to a variety of audiences. Manages team of forecast epidemiologists. Provides scientific direction for observational research led by team to support Level 1 - Level 3 forecasts for pipeline products. Leads specific observational research projects in support of in-line product forecasts/long-range plan in the US region, and contributes to forecasts developed for other regions. Makes significant contributions to the CfOR's Data & Analytics Center processes and real-world data platform. Contributes to strategy for real-world data acquisitions, and collaborations/partnerships

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Scientific experience

OR

Master's degree and 6 years of Scientific experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Scientific experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Scientific experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate in Epidemiology or other subject with high observational research content

3+ years experience with Medical or Doctoral degree

Experience in the design, execution, and analysis of observation research studies within Pharmaceutical or Public Health setting

Experience in research to support drug development

Experience in observational research project planning and management

Experience communicating observational research information (written and oral)

Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams

Managerial experience
