Amgen MBS Intern Operations Program (Summer 2019) in Thousand Oaks, California

Amgen's 10 - 13 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation. Limited relocation housing and/or transportation allowance may be available for eligible candidates.

Operations is one of three foundational functions at Amgen with a mission to manufacture and deliver safe and effective medicine to patients around the world. The organization is spread across eight sites and divided into five functions: Global Supply Chain, Process Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering.

Amgen's Operations Leadership Program is currently seeking highly motivated and talented individuals who will lead initiatives, strategic analysis and business case development on projects across the five Operations functions. Along with key business partners and functional groups, this position will focus on making effective recommendations to the organization's senior leadership.

With the support of his/her hiring manager, the intern will develop a project charter to map out objectives, identify key stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables. Leveraging his/her analytical, leadership, and communication skills, the intern will work cross-functionally to identify the problem, measure the current state, develop recommendations through qualitative and quantitative analysis, and present the findings through various forums including an intern-wide poster session and a final readout to executive management.

In conjunction with the project work, interns will have the opportunity for professional development through training sessions, an Executive Speaker Series, a week long cross-functional case study, one-on-one mentoring, and various networking events. Interns will also be able to interact with peers at Amgen-sponsored social events.
