Amgen Marketing - New Product Development Lead - Solid Tumors in Thousand Oaks, California

The Solid Tumor commercial lead is accountable for the development and execution of the U.S. Solid Tumor commercial strategy. Through cross-functional leadership and deep understanding of the treatment landscape, the New Product Develop Lead (NPDL) will provide feedback and US perspective on the development and execution of the global commercial plan for solid tumor assets. This will include external engagement, internal communication and contribution to the overall global product strategy.


  • Identify, analyze, and provide point of view on key business questions on solid tumor strategy to global marketing

  • Development and execution of US Solid Tumor commercial strategy, including launch planning and lifecycle management planning in collaboration with the product team/portfolio governance and alignment with global strategy

  • Contribute to global product strategy through deep understanding of the US commercial and reimbursement environment, sharing regional insights and engagement of external experts

  • Lead the development of US strategy, including external stakeholder management, commercial messaging and value messaging

  • Facilitate and continue to build Amgen's roll as a science based and patient focused reliable partner

  • Participate in the development of the target product profile (TPP)

  • Develop US forecast

  • Partner with the global team to accelerate innovative pipeline by providing US strategic input on the treatment and reimbursement landscape

  • Provide budget management

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 4 years of Marketing Strategy or Consulting experience


Master's degree and 7 years of Marketing Strategy or Consulting experience


Bachelor's degree and 9 years of Marketing Strategy or Consulting experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA in business or health sciences

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience with focus on marketing and/or sales

  • Experience in marketing, strategic planning and/or sales

  • Experience in oncology market

  • Experience with pricing and contracting

  • Successful track record of operating and responding in a competitive, nimble, fast-changing

market dynamic

  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork in a cross-functional team

  • Proven ability to analyze a business problem, develop an appropriate strategy, implement effective tactics, and measure results where appropriate

  • Proven strong project management skills, as well as demonstrated analytical, problem solving, negotiation, and consensus-building skills

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Skilled presenter with experience presenting tactical marketing/sales programs to large groups
