Machine Learning Scientist - Protein Engineering
What you will do

Within Amgen’s Research and Development organization, the Computational and Data Sciences (CDS) team s trives to revolutionize the design and discovery of breakthrough differentiating therapeutics. Driven by passion and dedication, the CDS team provides meaningful insights from physical and data modeling to accelerate therapeutic discovery.
In this vital role you will utilize your expertise to develop models and algorithms in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams of computational and experimental scientists. Providing technical leadership and partnering across broad discovery areas of research, you will:
Develop and implement groundbreaking machine learning and other data science solutions.
Collaborate with computational and experimental scientists to develop and optimize predictive models that directly impact the discovery pipeline.
What we expect of you
We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The qualified professional we seek is a Data Scientist with these qualifications.
Master’s degree and 4 years of Data Science experience
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Data Science experience
PhD in Computational Biology, Computation Chemistry, Bioinformatics, or Computer Science
Strong track record of research accomplishments including three or more scientific publications or conference presentations in machine learning
Expertise in advanced data science techniques and tools, machine learning, supervised/unsupervised learning and statistical analysis.
Experience with UNIX, Python, C++, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras.
Experience in applying both traditional and deep machine learning to computational chemistry or computational biology, especially protein structures and functions
Strong communication, project management and technical leadership skills with an enthusiasm for working in an interdisciplinary team environment.
