Amgen HR Manager - IS & DH&I in Thousand Oaks, California

This role will report to the HR Sr Mgr, HRBP for CIO Org and will be responsible for both strategic and tactical activities as they relate to HR client-facing support for the CIO organization.

A key focus of this high-impact role is developing and implementing innovative HR strategies to build engagement and a strong culture in the midst of dynamic growth!! The role will serve as the trusted advisor and coach senior leaders, in areas of strategy, leadership, organizational development, talent and change management.

Specific Activities Include:

  • Consult with business leaders to identify HR challenges and opportunities and recommend thoughtful and sound solutions to achieve business objectives.

  • Coach clients on a variety of HR and business-related issues to increase efficiency and improve work culture

  • Lead, in partnership with the Sr Mgr HRBP and relevant HR centers of expertise, leadership development, talent management, compensation strategies, engagement and retention, culture, and ongoing organizational design/workforce strategy initiatives

  • Support employee life cycle activities

  • Support annual HR processes (MAP/Performance, Talent Review, etc.)

  • Develop and deliver status/ad hoc reports

  • Generate data insights to drive employee engagement

  • Support the design and implementation of rotational programs and client driven talent initiatives

Basic Experience and Education

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree and 2 years of related experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of related experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 10 years of related experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of related experience

Preferred Requirements

  • 4+ years of dynamically complex/strategic HR experience, including HRBP, organization effectiveness, staff relations, compensation, talent development, and recruitment

  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple competing priorities, adapt to ever changing demands, and possess an intellectual curiosity, desire and ability to understand the business

  • Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and develop strategic and practical solutions to tangible business challenges; sound knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and business practices related to the field of Human Resources

  • Demonstrated ability to interact, influence, and build relations with all levels of management, and executives

  • Experience working with cross functional global teams in a matrix org

  • Ability to partner well with other HR and business functions

  • Strong facilitation, collaboration and project management skills are critical
