Amgen Health Economics Manager – Cardiovascular and Metabolic (CV&M) in Thousand Oaks, California
The Cardiovascular and Metabolic (CV&M) Health Economics Manager participates in developing a Global Health Economics (GHE) value-evidence strategy for either an Amgen pipeline asset or Marketed Product in the therapeutic areas of cardiology and metabolic.
Plans and leads projects as part of an integrated, multinational research program to support the asset, in alignment with the strategy, tracks and executes the GHE plan and delivers against goals. Evaluates, selects and works with study vendors. Coordinates product and project activities. Has budget responsibility for projects Designs and executes observational studies, develops or approves research project plans and oversees execution. Executes and manages descriptive epidemiologic studies to characterize patient characteristics, treatment patterns, healthcare utilization, and costs. Executes and manages research projects involving the analysis of multiple types of data including administrative claims, Electronic Health Records (EHRs), and registries. Designs or approves GHE-related aspects such as statistical analysis plan (SAP) of observational studies and interventional trials and consults on study execution. Assists in the strategy and selection of Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs) for interventional trials and observational studies. Assists in the development of economic models with vendors and/or Amgen internal center of excellence. Assists in the development of the Global Value Dossier (GVD) and US AMCP Dossier Assists in the development/conduct of targeted and systematic literature reviews Communicates scientific information to a variety of audiences. Contributes to GHE publications and research reports.
Doctorate Degree or currently enrolled in PhD program and must complete all requirements necessary to obtain PhD prior to employment start date
Master's Degree and 3 years of health economics and outcomes research experience and/or epidemiology research experience.
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of health economics and outcomes research experience and/or epidemiology research experience.
PhD in Epidemiology or other subject with high observational research content is highly preferred.
Masters or PhD in Health Economics, Outcomes Research, or related discipline
Experience in the design, execution and analysis of observational research studies
