Grad Intern – R&D (Induced Proximity Platform)

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. We are seeking a highly creative and motivated scientist to join our rapidly growing group as a graduate intern. The intern will be part of Amgen’s Induced Proximity Platform (IPP) team focused on tackling the Undrugable Genome through Targeted Protein Degradation. The intern will assist in broadening our understanding of E3 ubiquitin ligases and the development of next generation therapeutics like PROTAC’s and molecular GLUE’s. These approaches will be applied to tackling challenging targets in diverse therapeutic areas, such as Oncology and Immuno-Oncology. The intern will design, perform and analyze experiments using a variety of cellular and biochemical assay systems. They will also gain experience in setting project goals and timelines, interacting with team members across different departments and research sites, and communicating and presenting data to diverse audiences.

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
18 years or older
Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master’s program for a Master’s internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master’s OR Pharm D OR PhD program before internship starts
Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Pursuing second year of PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, cancer biology or similar degree program by summer 2022
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to excel in a highly collaborative, matrixed team environment.
