Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this program, you will work with the industry's leading scientists to explore innovative approaches to modeling and simulation.

• Learn from scientific mentors to navigate the field of drug development and thrive

• Learn to develop pharmacometric models that characterize the time course of uptake and removal of medicines from the body (pharmacokinetics) and the medicine’s efficacy and safety (pharmacodynamics)

• Investigate tools such as profile likelihood and parameter sensitivity applied to pharmacometric models

• Explore and improve coding abilities in R

• Develop approaches to assess and improve model identifiability

• Communicate and build visualizations for projecting model uncertainty and variability in clinical decision making

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years or older

  • Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

  • Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master’s program for a Master’s internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master’s OR Pharm D OR PhD program before internship starts

  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment

  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree concentration in engineering, bio-mathematics/statistics, pharmaceutical sciences, or similar field

  • Inquisitive mind and passion for modeling biological systems

  • Knowledge of ordinary differential equations for modeling

  • Proficiency in R or other mathematical programming language
