Amgen Global Marketing Director -- Diagnostic (Dx) Commercial Strategy, Oncology in Thousand Oaks, California
Amgen has a diverse and rapidly advancing oncology portfolio. A new Diagnostic Strategy team (DxST) has been formed to ensure that Amgen has a robust molecular diagnostics capability to support, differentiate and advance our portfolio across multiple therapeutic areas. The DxST is a cross-functional team with members from the key functions necessary to successfully develop and deliver diagnostics tools for Product Teams (PT) to support the clinical development and commercialization activities globally.
The main objective of the DxST is to support programs and products by providing strategic guidance and direction on the diagnostic strategy and needs for PTs. In addition, the DxST will be responsible for building the necessary internal and external partnerships to strengthen Amgen's ability to integrate molecular diagnostics with its products to enhance their value.
A new position, Global Marketing Director - Diagnostic Commercial Strategy, Oncology, has been created for the core team commercial representative.
providing commercial Dx expertise to the Franchise Steering Committee (FSC), Global Product General Managers (GPGMs) and Product Teams (PTs) supporting successful co-development and commercial implementation of a cDxstrategy (includes internal advice to regions and affiliates and external partnership collaborations)
defining and developing the diagnostic microjourney (ies), with the Global Marketing Leader (GML) / Regional New Product Development Leads (NPDLs) for GPGM and PTs to ensure Dx strategy aligns with optimal patient identification
providing input and helping create the Target Test Profile (TPP), and ensuring it is aligned to the Target Disease profile (PT formation) and ultimately the TPP ( First in Human and beyond)
contributing to the Dx Joint Commercial and development committees with our Dx partners
conducting the commercial assessment with Dxsubteam on the appropriate Dx partners
providing input and advice to the Dx partnership agreements
serving as a source of knowledge by engagement with external partners, pathology, labs, etc., to bring back commercial insights
ensuring the commercial requirements are captured in the Development, Regulatory, and Commercialization process
evaluating the applicability of the Dx options to other programs
engaging with Global Value Access & Policy to ensure access and commercialization is optimized
partnering with the GML and Insight Brand Product Team (IBPT) to prepare the commercial organization for launch including relevant support of the Dx commercial marketing
partnering with NPDLs and archetype countries for assets advancing a cDX strategy by streamlining the Dx pathway to launch, geographic optimization of the test and ultimately support Dx uptake
Expected travel (domestic and international) is 25%
Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing and companion diagnostic experience
Master's degree and 7 years of marketing and companion diagnostic experience
Bachelor's degree and 9 years of marketing and companion diagnostic experience
10+ years of cumulative experience in a companion diagnostic company and a biotech/pharmaceutical company
Experience launching a companion diagnostic product in a biotech/pharmaceutical company and/or experience launching a companion diagnostic product in a companion diagnostic company
Demonstrated track record of strong commercial strategic planning and execution; successful product launch experience
Experience in a Strategic Regional or Global function
Oncology therapeutic area experience
Awareness and ability to navigate and conform to Commercialization and Corporate Governance processes
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across the matrix
Strong leadership skills, including ability to influence teams with diverse backgrounds
