Amgen Executive Director Corporate Strategy in Thousand Oaks, California
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Strategy Commercialization & Innovation the Head of Corporate Strategy for Amgen will have the following key responsibilities in their role. The position will be based out of the company’s headquarters located in Thousand Oaks, California.
Guide the annual strategy process for the CEO and Board of Directors
Lead special strategic projects for the CEO across all aspects of the company’s interests and activities
Guide the annual therapeutic area strategy process
Identify key strategic issues facing the company, propose projects and solutions to address them
Provide CEO staff with competitive intelligence
Manage a team of approximately 10 high potential individuals to achieve objectives
Doctorate degree & 6 years of Drug Commercialization related experience OR
Master’s degree & 10 years of Drug Commercialization related experience OR
Bachelor’s degree & 12 years of Drug Commercialization experience AND
6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Advanced degree- PhD, MD, JD or MBA preferred
10 years’ experience at a strategy consulting firm or large matrixed organization
Experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
Leadership role in the business or leading a strategy management team in the development of long-range of strategic plans and objectives through the identification of strategic issues and opportunities that could influence business growth and profitability
