Amgen Director Regional Sales Oncology - West Kyprolis in Thousand Oaks, California

Territory: PS400000 West covering

Northwest, Southwest, Midwest, Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain Regions

All or a portion of States: OR, CA, WA, NM, AZ, NV, WI, IL, MO, AR, TN AL, MS, LA, TX, MN, NE, MO, MT, CO, UT, OK, IA

  • Lead and manage district teams to maximize their performance and help achieve/exceed sales and budget targets

  • Develop business plans for the region's geography and implement national sales strategies and programs. Actively track the execution of key strategies and tactics

  • Provide actionable and regular feedback to district teams on the marketing, allocating, monitoring, and leveraging of internal and external resources (e.g., discretionary spend)

  • Demonstrate the appropriate coaching and counseling to prepare individuals for future development

  • Conduct annual and on-going performance reviews and competency assessments

  • Communicate and coordinate with both district and cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Finance, other Business Units); Share best practices with direct reports and peers

  • Actively participate in recruiting and retaining the best talent at all levels of the sales organization- Screen, interview, and hire candidates; create and foster a culture of talent development

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other Amgen business units including District Sales Mangers,

  • Regional Sales Directors and Corporate Account Managers to ensure effective customer engagement

  • Coordinate and/or participate in cluster teams. Conduct district sales meetings to guide districts.

  • Develop local Opinion Leader and Key Account relationships to achieve aligned objectives

  • Ensure 100% compliance with training

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree & 4 years Sales/Marketing experience


Master's degree & 8 years of Sales/Marketing years


Bachelor's degree & 10 years of Sales/Marketing experience


4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical / biotech product sales experience, including 5+ years sales management experience

  • Senior Sales Management experience

  • Advanced degree

  • Home office and/or marketing experience

  • 3+ years of specialty sales experience (Oncology marketplace)

  • Experience in biologics

  • Buy and bill model experience
