Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will support the Data Strategy group within Commercial Data and Analytics (CD&A) function. This function is responsible for defining and executing the Amgen’s Commercial data strategy, which includes managing the readiness of data assets, ensuring data quality, and performing lifecycle maintenance. This key Manager position will define, manage, and improve our internal data-related processes across CD&A and with our internal partners.
The Manager’s primary focus is to govern Commercial processes, manage vendor deliverables, provide data subject matter expertise and improve efficiency and effectiveness. This involves managing data end-to-end data processes, which involves planning, intake, delivery, and performance management. Additional primary responsibilities include managing Commercial data suppliers, contracting with Specialty Pharmacies, and enforcing our governance program across US and Global Commercial data/systems. These activities will require frequent collaboration across CD&A functions (research, analytics, forecasting, etc.) as well as cross-functionally across Amgen (Sales, Marketing, IS, Compliance, Privacy, Legal, etc.).
Provides subject matter expertise and notifies commercial stakeholders on existing data assets and how they can be used for analysis/insight generation
Provides end to end project management to ensure requests for data are fulfilled compliantly and effectively
Manage data intake, acquisition, delivery, and performance of Commercial data assets
Serves as liaison between data suppliers and CD&A, IS/iDNA, Field Excellence, and V&A to ensure ongoing monitoring and timely resolution on data related issues
Collaborate with cross functional partners and aligns to our One Amgen approach to data contracting
Oversees vendors, partners with GSS and leadership on contracting processes, establishes Service Level Agreements, and assists with contract negotiations
Continually scans marketplace and suggests new data sources to address data gaps in a coordinated manner
Develops data standards and policies in partnership with leadership and partners
Ensures all Compliance, Privacy, and Legal processes are adhered to and considered when purchasing, ingesting, and using data
Continuously monitor performance, improve processes and champion change
Helps development and maintain a central knowledge repository
Optimizes awareness of data assets via concise and timely communication of available data sources
Provides training and communication to all Amgen partners, seeking to improve data knowledge and increase utilization across our data sources
Accountable for budget tracking alongside the CD&A Budget Coordinator

What we expect of you
Basic Qualifications
Doctorate degree
OR
Master’s degree and 2 years of project or data management experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of project or data management experience
OR
Associates degree and 10 years of project or data management experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of project or data management experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or data management
3+ years of project and/or data management related experience gained in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industries
Experience in developing, owning and improving processes
Experience working with key functional areas within GCO (Global Commercial Operations)
Keen awareness and alignment to the crucial roles that Privacy, Compliance, and Legal play within our organization
Demonstrated outstanding strategic / critical thinking abilities and business insight
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences
Excellent diplomacy and facilitation skills; able to work cross-functionally and with external suppliers
Strong desire to fulfill Amgen’s mission of serving patients

Project management, agile teams and corrective action experience
