Commercial Insights Senior Manager, Hematology/Oncology
What you will do

The Commercial Insights Hematology Senior Manager will lead insights generation activities using primary market research (qualitative and quantitative) and execute secondary data analytics for reporting/tracking, supporting quarterly business reviews, brand planning analytics, and execution of ad-hoc analysis.
The individual in this role is an excellent business partner and must be comfortable synthesizing data from multiple sources into an integrated picture to understand brand performance and support brand planning and strategy. He or she must be a passionate champion of insights-driven strategy and objective evidence-based decision making.
This position reports to the Director for Commercial Insights Oncology/Hematology within Commercial Data and Analytics (CD&A) but will work day-to-day with those that own the brands.
Key responsibilities include:
Plan, design and conduct key strategic and highly complex market research programs and translate the findings into strategic and tactical recommendations that help drive Oncology Business Unit (OBU) brands’ success
Synthesize and integrate various data, research and analyses into meaningful insights while ensuring that analyses and summaries of results are shared in the form of compelling stories that deepen customer understanding
Develop secondary data analytics to support marketing and key financial activities, including Quarterly Business Reviews by providing objective, data driven insights
Prioritize research resources to impact critical business issues and decisions
Develop and nurture productive relationships with the OBU cross-functional marketing team to appropriately define the business problems/business questions
Turn unstructured business issues/requests into appropriate action plans and projects that result in high quality, meaningful and actionable deliverables
Consider alternative methodologies to collect the voice of customer, being open to emerging innovative methods without immediately jumping to standard methods
Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with best-in-class insights vendors
Ensure that both routine and ad-hoc projects are in compliance with all Amgen SOPs and
meet service-level expectations for quality, timeliness, and budget
Some travel required

Doctorate degree and 2 years of analytics, sales and / or marketing operations experience
Master’s degree and 4 years of analytics, sales and / or marketing operations experience
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of analytics, sales and / or marketing operations experience
Demonstrated exceptional strategic / critical thinking abilities and business acumen
Good understanding of biopharmaceutical marketing and direct to HCP strategies and tactics
Good understanding of all consumers: payers, patients, and HCPs
Analytical skills and the ability to take complex information sets and translate them to actionable outcomes
Demonstrated ability to dig deep and the uncover the “why” (go beyond the rational)
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences
Ability to work collaboratively in team-based environment
Ability to balance multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously
Proficient facilitation, negotiation, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
