Amgen Business Analysis & Info Sr Mgr, Oncology Market Research in Thousand Oaks, California

The Business Analysis and Information (BAI) Senior Manager will lead primary and secondary marketing research activities for a variety early stage oncology assets. This critical role reports to the Director of the Global Oncology BAI team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Independently plan, design, and conduct complex, global market research projects in support of hematology assets (e.g., for leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, etc.)

  • Turn unstructured business issues/requests into appropriate action plans and projects that result in high quality, meaningful and actionable insights

  • Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants to enable effective and efficient project execution

  • Develop strong relationships with Global Marketing commercial leadership to define BAI objectives, budgets and work plans for key commercialization activities

  • Synthesize and integrate various data, research, and analyses to generate impactful and actionable insights

  • Partner with and influence Global Marketing commercial leadership so they understand and implement key customer and market insights

  • Provide an objective and rigorous point of view to inform the commercialization process, while collaborating with other disciplines, e.g., forecasting, finance, competitive intelligence, payer, etc.

  • Drive strategic and innovative approaches to solve key business problems

  • Provide summary of results, insights, and implications/recommendations when communicating to key stakeholder groups

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree & 2 years of analytics experience

OR

  • Master's degree & 4 years of analytics experience

OR

  • Bachelor's degree & 6 years of analytics experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Global marketing research experience

  • Therapeutic area experience in oncology

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically to support key business decisions

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior marketing executives

  • Deep understanding of marketing and business commercialization processes

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences

  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a team-based environment

  • Broad, working knowledge of commonly used biopharmaceutical industry databases

  • Proficient facilitation, negotiation, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
