Data Engineer (Remote)
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will apply specialized knowledge and understanding of principles, concepts and standards to moderately complex assignments as follows:
Be an integral part of cross functional teams on projects with aims to systematically derive insights that drive substantial business value for Amgen and our patients
Collaborate with Data Architects, Business and Data Scientists to design and develop end-to-end data pipeline to meet fast paced business needs
Help manage AWS and Databricks platform costs
Adhere to best practices for coding, testing and designing reusable code/component
Able to explore new tools, technologies that will help to improve ETL platform performance
Participate in sprint planning meetings and provide estimations on technical implementation; Collaborate and communicate effectively with the product teams
Present analysis ideas, progress and results to leadership and business partners
What we expect of you

Associate’s degree and 4 years of experience
High school diploma / GED and 6 years of experience
Experience with software development, end-to-end system design
Detailed, technical aptitude with strong logical, problem solving and decision-making skills
Basic data access and wrangling skills like SQL, Python, Tableau
Ability to learn quickly, be organized and detail oriented
Experience on AWS, familiar with EC2, S3, and Redshift/Spectrum
Experience working in a team of data scientist, business experts and software engineers to deliver insights and solutions
