Amgen Accounting Manager in Thousand Oaks, California
Responsible for the global integration and compliance of all controllership activities for small and medium-sized new business development opportunities across multiple regions. This includes financial controlling support with newly incorporated international entities/branches as well as with smaller Business Development deals (acquisitions, divestitures, out-licensing, in-licensing, collaborations, and joint ventures). Support the Director Finance Integration, Controls & Access Security with a successful delivery of strategic, tactical and financial integration & controlling goals.
Represent and coordinate with the other functional teams as part of any small and medium sized integration projects. These teams include Functional and Regional Accounting, Financial Controls, Tax Treasury (incl. Customer Finance), Global Business Services, Information Systems and other impacted work streams.
Operate as a link between local, regional and functional finance teams (depending in integration project), establish clear roles & responsibilities and install the appropriate processes and tools to integrate appropriately.
Provide timely guidance and financial controlling training to all impacted stakeholders including staff acquired company's staff (if any).
Present and timely update management in Accounting & Finance about integration accomplishments, plans, issues, risks, and needs.
Support Director Finance Integration, Controls & Access Security with large integration and acquisition projects. This includes acting as delegate for the interactions with the Business Development team on potential integration deals.
Work on any finance integration or financial controlling related project (ad hoc). This may include activities to enhance SOX or International Internal Controls Certification (IICC) compliance.
Master's degree and 2 years of Accounting or Finance experience
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Accounting or Finance experience
Associate's degree and 10 years of Accounting or Finance experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Accounting or Finance experience
Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, MBA or equivalent
CPA or equivalent
5 years professional work experience in Finance or Accounting, with experience in project management roles
Strong project management skills including a strong process oriented approach, good understanding of system implications and ability to manage multiple cross-functional work flows simultaneously.
Demonstrates a high level of analytical skills and capability to solve complex problems rather independently.
Solid presentation skills and ability to present effectively to functional Finance Management
Self-starter with high work ethic
Basic acquisition and integration related experience, including International accounting & financing structures and complexities
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence personnel across functions and at all levels, including the executive team
Experience with SAP, Hyperion and/or other financial reporting tools
