Software Developer Specialist
What you will do
In this vital role, as a developer on the Data Science Workbench (DSWB) team, you will support Amgen's many data science teams as we work together to build the analysis, ML/AI model and insights that will drive Amgen's mission forward.
Explore cutting-edge technologies for data engineering, data science and ML/AI model ops
Provide technical leadership to developers with a wide range of technical skills including data engineering, web application development, backend software/API development, and AWS cloud infrastructure
At least 50% of time spent contributing to DSWB code base
Engage directly with data science clients, identify challenges they are facing and suggest solutions
At least 20% of time crafting content including help guides, white papers, and webinars
Configure, integrate and run technologies including Databricks, Docker, Kubernetes, Juptyer, RStudio, Dash, SageMaker, AWS IAM, EKS, S3, CloudFormation, Lambda, Kinesis, RDS, Redshift
What we expect of you

Demonstrated ability working with software development languages such as Python or Java
Knowledge of DevOps concepts such as test-driven development, CI/CD, containerization, automated deployment, documentation-as-code, infrastructure-as-code, etc.
Familiar with AWS or other cloud service provides
Can work independently and asynchronously with team members across multiple time zones
Can owner a feature from beginning to end—including collaborating with clients on requirements, delegating development and being responsible for implementation
Loves learning and exploring new technologies in the constantly evolving data/ML engineering ecosystem
Enjoys working with data systems and has a passion for data
Experience with Kubernetes or AWS EKS
Building production APIs (e.g. using Lambda/API Gateway)
Experiencing building web applications
Experience supporting data science or BI clients, can understand their pain points and can collaborate on solutions
