Amgen Specialist IS Business Analyst in Tampa, Florida

Amgen is seeking a Specialist Information Systems (IS) Business Analyst, who will support the effective and efficient execution of the Global ERP vision to improve end user experience, optimally meet the business needs, and support operations for the SAP ecosystem. The analyst will ensure the Global ERP operations are running in the most efficient manner possible. This individual will also act as a single point of contact and Subject Matter Expert for ERP support in the US region.

The Specialist Information Systems (IS) Business Analyst will be reporting to the Global ERP Senior Manager IS at Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. Key Activities of the Specialist Information Systems (IS) Business Analyst include:

  • Supports the service owner, the global lead, and the managed services provider in the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of the GERP service

  • Provides support to the execution of the Global ERP Run Roadmap owned by the Global ERP Run Lead, including process improvements, incident reductions, automation, financial performance and total cost of ownership

  • Provides operational support to ERP systems to ensure availability per agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA) and implement proactive measures to reduce incidents

  • Improves internal COE processes related to maintenance and production support for the SAP Landscape

  • Directs and partners with Basis, Security, Development and Build/Project teams to achieve the ERP COE goals and objectives

  • Effective interaction with key business constituents to facilitate transparency

  • Prepares and publishes Global ERP related communications and system activity calendar (including weekly, monthly maintenance, quarterly releases) and ensure that it aligns across other IS enterprise systems and stakeholders

  • Ensure that Global ERP systems adhere to Amgen corporate, GMP and SOX compliance requirements, including periodic reviews and attestations

  • Acts as an escalation point for production related issues in the US region and gets engaged as needed in critical system related events

  • Works with Basis and IS shared infrastructure team to execute production disaster recovery failover and failback

  • Maintains strong relationships with managed service provider and other regional support leads to ensure global time zone coverage by follow the sun principle

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 2 years of Information Systems and SAP Operations experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Information Systems and SAP Operations experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems and SAP Operations experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems and SAP Operations experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with IS standards/policies and Service Management tools and processes for an enterprise application

  • Good understanding of the ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) process framework and a managed service model in order to ensure that clients/project teams can obtain services efficiently

  • 7 or more years of experience in the deploying and supporting of complex Enterprise environments

  • 5 or more years of experience of operating in a global managed service environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and direct cross-functional teams to address and solve technical and business issues

  • Strong customer relationship management skills

  • Project management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate/lead multiple projects/activities with competing priorities

  • Understand service models and ability to prioritize based on impacts to business operations
