Amgen Specialist IS Architect - Single Sign-On & Cloud in Tampa, Florida

Amgen is seeking a Specialist IS (Information Systems) Architect to join the Identity Management (IdM) team and will oversee the design, integration, and support of Amgen's Single Sign-on Infrastructure and B2B infrastructure.

The Specialist IS Architect will report to the Senior Manager of End User Computing Services based out of Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, Florida. This state-of-the-art center serves as a base for finance, information systems, and human resources professionals to make a meaningful impact at one of the world's leading biotechnology companies.

Identity Management at Amgen is a core group responsible for managing all the enterprise directories, identity provisioning and access management/governance solutions, single sign-on tools, privileged identity management, PKI and other authentication platforms. This team is at the fore-front of enterprise architecture and security at Amgen and is passionate about providing solutions with great end user experience.

Key Activities for the Specialist IS Architect include:

  • Be the owner for Amgen's single sign-on environments including Okta, CA Siteminder, and Microsoft Azure, Amgen's multifactor authentication services such as RSA, Amgen's B2B environment providing solutions for external partners

  • Be the subject matter expert for single sign-on and communicate complex technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and/or vendors

  • Be the technology lead for enterprise projects, including migration of on-premises WAM solutions to the Cloud. Engineer and implement single sign-on solutions for cloud and mobile authentication

  • Monitor operational and performance statistics for systems, perform preventative maintenance, and automate routine procedures. Periodically meet with Managed Service Provider to review SLA's, KPI's etc. Provide ISM management which includes change control review and approval, root cause analysis reviews and submissions, configuration library management, service metric evaluation and analysis, and report generation

  • Be accountable and responsible for executing and following through with system owner assigned tasks and compliance related requests

  • Create and maintain technical documentation such as SOPs, design documents, operational drawings, manuals, etc.

  • Enhances information competence at Amgen by answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members; teaching improved processes; mentoring team members

  • Conduct routine hardware and software audits of servers and applications to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines

  • The Specialist IS Architect on occasion might have responsibilities outside of business hours

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 3 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Strong knowledge of Web Access Management and SSO technologies (Okta, Azure, Ping Federate, SAML, OAuth, and OpenID/Connect)

  • Experience with RSA Authentication Manager (SecurID) or other multi-factor authentication methods, risk based authentication

  • Experience and background of B2B concepts and architecture, application and reverse proxies

  • Working knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, LAN, WAN, SSL, Firewall, Load Balancer, and DMZ configurations

  • Scripting skills such as PowerShell, Perl, VB Script, etc.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
