Amgen Senior Associate IS CITRIX Engineer in Tampa, Florida
Amgen is seeking a Senior Associate Information Systems (IS) CITRIX Engineer who will support Infrastructure Operations having primary responsibility for activities related to CITRIX administration, and other current, or new related technologies introduced in the Amgen 24x7 regulated, on-call environment. Supporting a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) for a large Enterprise, the CITRIX Admin will be responsible to work with the desktop team to set up the images and applications needs, based on changing business requirements.
The Senior Associate IS CITRIX Engineer will be reporting to the Senior Manager Information Systems at Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. At Amgen, our mission is simple: to serve patients. The Infrastructure Operations team is the global enterprise administration group that manages physical and virtual hosting including private and public cloud hosting options, operating systems, databases, middleware, storage, and backup. The primary platform supported by this group is Citrix based XenApp and XenDesktop.
Key Activities of the Senior Associate IS CITRIX Engineer include:
Support the Service Owner, full time employees, and managed service provider in the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of the technology service
Ensure service offering is aligned with our key principles of service ownership which include: meeting the needs of the business, cost effectiveness, scalability, compliance, reliability, and resilience
Support ongoing technical leadership for design, engineering engagements, operations, and performance issues resolution for all aspects associated with the VDI solution, as well as, providing operations and process solutions for thin client computing
Support technical leadership in application design decisions ensuring application solutions exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and reliability upon deployment while providing guidance to less experienced technical staff
Contribute to runbook design, development, and ongoing updates, along with, capacity planning, disaster recovery forecasting and design
Establish and implement a patching schedule, while monitoring security bulletins to obtain information of potential threats; analyze and lead necessary security patch implementations to ensure ongoing system security
Implement automation solutions and enterprise-wide scripts using tools such as Ansible, SCCM
Provide performance analysis and tune systems by utilizing software and hardware tools to identify, analyze, and diagnose complex problems and factors affecting performance
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Information Systems and/or CITRIX Administration experience
Associate's degree and 6 years of Information Systems and/or CITRIX Administration experience
High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Systems and/or CITRIX Administration experience
Industry Certifications and experience with Citrix, MS based applications and Powershell scripting
Demonstrated experience supporting Application Sequencing with App-v Remote location solutions with App-V Integration with Citrix Xendesktop / Xenapp
Demonstrated experience supporting thin client Systems, and related services and monitoring systems
Demonstrated experience supporting Virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V/XenServer) and Storage (NetApp/SAN)
Familiarity with SQL Databases or Messaging system solutions
Scripting and ITIL experience and managing regulated systems in the Pharma sector
Working knowledge of operating system and network tools for troubleshooting performance issues
Working knowledge on NAS/SAN storage, Clustering and HA configurations
Demonstrated strengths that include: experience as part of a high performance team, excellent analytical problem solving skills, persuasion, and negotiation of critical issues
