Senior Associate IS Business Systems Analyst – Global Information Management

Information management, compliance, and security are priorities for companies considering growing cyber security threats, privacy breaches and increasingly complex regulatory requirements. Information security, information management and compliance teams need to think and act differently in today’s business and technology environment, and leaders must fundamentally rethink their approach to information governance, record keeping principles risk management, business engagement, operations and staff skills to meet these challenges.

The Senior Associate IS Business Analyst will work closely with Information Systems partners and Global Records and Information Management (RIM) leadership in both Tampa, FL and Thousand Oaks, CA to improve, enhance and modernize records and information management capabilities, security of information, and partner confidence.

  • Acting as subject matter expert for industry-leading security tools, will be responsible for technical and business analysis that supports: implementation of advanced classification, labeling, handling, and protection systems that cover unstructured content

  • Drive user adoption through continuous improvement of tools and processes while engaging business partners to build solutions following IS methodologies as well as RIM best practices

  • Independently identifies, assesses and resolves technology and process issues while interacting with Amgen’s Information Security, Identity and Access Management, Records and Information Management teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and optimized to protect company information

  • Collaborates multi-functionally with analysts, engineers, data scientists to deliver continuous improvement in cyber defense/resilience

  • Responsible for evaluating, monitoring, tools used for compliance approvals within RIM processes.

  • Maintains GRC tracking tools.

  • Partners with the cyber security team to identify evolving data protection risks, threat trends, and tools while closely working with technical teams to identify compliance and information management improvements for enterprise content management and collaboration systems.

  • Champions Amgen technology advancement by means of project team participation, interactions, demos, and understanding of core business functions.

  • Works with team members to identify, assess and resolve technology and process issues while interacting with Amgen’s Information Security, Identity and Access Management, Records and Information Management teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and optimized to protect company information.

  • Reviews invoices received as a result of record transfers

Basic Qualifications:

Master’s degree


Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Data Analytic or Information Management experience


Associate’s degree and 6 years Data Analytic or Information Management experience


High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Data Analytic or Information Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Management.

  • Demonstrated experience as an information steward participating on small to medium sized security related, information management projects with toolsets supporting: metadata analysis, data classification, labeling and protection of unstructured content.

  • Successful customer experience with a company while exhibiting strong communication, attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical ability relevant to information management.

  • Ability to develop, document, manage, and communicate RIM processes

  • Follow accepted IS policies and standards while working independently and providing recommendations on strategies

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, work planning, a troubleshooting aptitude, and multitasking using intellectual curiosity to collaborate proactively with thought partners across functional areas.

  • Understanding of power of data analysis and the ability to assess new technology capabilities as they present themselves in the market with a proven capacity to move products from Demo and Proof of Concept to Pilot and Production quickly.

  • Experience mitigating risk and delivering innovation.
