Amgen Senior Associate Continuous Improvement in Tampa, Florida
Amgen is searching for a Continuous Improvement Senior Associate to serve as part of the Continuous Improvement team at the Amgen Capability Center (ACC) in Tampa, Florida. As a member of the Continuous Improvement team, this role will support multiple innovative business process improvement goals to align with the Global Business Solutions site strategy. The Senior Associate will assist (and report to) the Continuous Improvement Senior Manager in driving business process improvement initiatives that are key to delivering on the Amgen and ACC long-range vision.
A successful Senior Associate will exhibit project management experience, oral and written communication skills, conceptual problem-solving skills, and quantitative / qualitative analytic and strong relationship management skills. For the right candidate, this unique role provides the opportunity to support key business process initiatives and implement comprehensive change methodologies to build an organization and enable it to effectively support Amgen in a dynamic business environment.
Provide input to the Continuous Improvement vision and strategy at the ACC, encompassing operations, materials, and data for assigned area and applying lean principles as appropriate
Assist in defining priorities and areas for continuous improvement to increase the overall performance of the Capability Center
Develop, organize, edit, publish process improvement events and documentation
Attend and assist in facilitating business process improvement programs for the Capability Center
Act as a key resource to functional area(s) in identifying and defining projects by value stream/critical metric events that are high value opportunities for improvement
Partner with functional area business owners to develop, analyze, and monitor key performance indicatorsBasic qualifications:
Bachelor's degree & 2 years of Continuous Improvement ExperienceOR
Associate's degree & 6 years of Continuous Improvement ExperienceOR
High school diploma / GED & 8 years of Continuous Improvement ExperiencePreferred Qualifications
Master's or Bachelor's degree in business, finance, operations and/or technology
Experience in biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry or experience working in a Global Business Services or Shared Services Center
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to organize business process improvement documents and prepare executive-level discussion documents
Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approaches, and manage execution
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade others; multi-lingual capability a plus due to the global nature of the capability center
Proven track record of developing process improvement project plans and leading teams and individuals to implement and drive projects resulting in bottom line, measurable, hard cost savings
Experience with Continuous Improvement tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, etc.
Proven ability to gather and analyze data and work with teams and individuals to develop and achieve measurable goals on time and on budget
