What you will do
Amgen is seeking a Mac OS Engineer to join our Device Engineering Team and plays an integral role the delivery of long-term end user software architecture and management of Mac Devices. The Mac Engineer partners with both business and technology groups to ensure that the proposed technical solutions align with the company’s overall objectives, and that both groups enable and drive each other to meet the company’s mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities
Administer Workspace One/JAMF and create packages for applications to deploy on systems across the globe for the Mac OS
Serve as the top-most critical issue point for all Mac users.
Develop end to end automation of self-service installation and support by macOS end users: DEP/business manager/Workspace One/Automated Guided installation, App Store, Automated ticket generation.
Create and maintain technical knowledge base documents.
Create and standardize hardware compatibility lists.
Restore crashed operating systems and recover lost data from corrupt/damaged hard drives on Mac.
Run the Apple Infrastructure and build customized Mac OS images to be deployed on iMacs, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.
Build & handle technical system procedure documentation and ensure it is updated and current. Develop Knowledge Base articles related to macOS, Workspace One and JAMF Pro.
Evaluate security updates and service packs for supported applications and perform vital QC and certification for installation on all supported Mac clients.
Test, install and update the macOS operating system including proprietary applications, security patches, updates, application drivers and system security tools.
Install and configure all vital security software and implement security standards on Mac computers.
Planning the Mac refresh project and provide technical expertise, mentorship, and strategic recommendations to other IT groups.
Executive Support to VIP Staff.
Install, configure, automate, and supervise various Mac services, Infrastructure as a Service and Platform (IaaS, PaaS).
Perform operational engineering for activities which include platform upgrades, server patching, monitoring, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Work closely with a team of architects, engineers, and developers to build functional design specifications.
Build and lead all Mac provisioning scripts needed for single instance, environment-based (dev, prod, etc.) or regional-specific resources.
Help in all Mac technology deployment activities, workflow configuration and development, and third-party system integration.
Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
Or
Master’s degree and 2 years of Information Systems and software, mobile, or web experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Information Systems and software, mobile, or web experience
Or
Associate degree and 8 years of Information Systems and software, mobile, or web experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Information Systems and software, mobile, or web experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrate your Mac expertise to mentor other team members
Proficient with JAMF, WS1 or Intune for Mac Management.
Good understanding of Identity and Access management solutions Okta, Ping or Azure AD.
Proficient with conditional access and Device Trust Solutions for Mac OS.
Mac scripting knowledge
Exposure to Cloud Services – including Office 365, SharePoint, Box
Experience specifying/configuring/troubleshooting user and customer issues in a changing environment.
An understanding of MAC OS and support issues to the highest level
Understanding of basic Server OS and application installations and technical support technologies (e.g., Exchange, Server Shares, Active Directory, Printer Shares, universal print)
Solve and perform a root cause analysis of customer reported product issues including examining product logs, system logs, and other system debug information
Communicate clearly and effectively with internal partners as well as customers to drive resolution of technical issues
Be proactive, self-motivated, and diligent to detail when solving highly sophisticated level of advanced problems
Work well under pressure in a highly dynamic environment
Developing or supporting an enterprise class application, addressing product issues and driving corrective actions
