Job Summary

Amgen is seeking a Director- Digital Workplace Solutions to join the Information Services team and the Director will have overall accountability for the design and delivery of desktop and mobile computing across the enterprise. The technology landscape includes desktop and mobile environment, remote access, messaging & collaboration services, and video conferencing. The Director- Digital Workplace Solutions will be part of the leadership team at the Shared Services site and will report to the Executive Director Business Services based at Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL.

Key Activities Include:

  • Responsible for managing an IS team, projects and processes for on-site and remote end users, troubleshooting and issue resolution related to desktop infrastructure and business IS support

  • Partner with lines of business and establish a process for effective delivery of end user priorities

  • Experience with the modern digital workplace and design thinking

  • Increase standardization of core processes; improve processes in support of strategic imperatives and programs

  • Working with Executives in a matrixed environment

  • Ensure compliance with enterprise IS policy, process, procedures and controls by all staff

  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with the business partners they serve

  • Travel: International and Domestic travel up to 25% may be essential - short notice travel may be possible

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Master's degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

AND

4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related field

  • 10+ yrs of IT operations experience, to include 5+ years-experience in managing multiple, medium to large, cross-functional teams or project sand systems programming and administration at the Director level of similar sized organization or operating environment

  • Managed environment with >10000 users

  • 3+ yrs experience in managing in a highly regulated environment (Pharmaceutical, Bio-technology, Food, Beverage, Healthcare, or related industry)

  • 5+ yrs experience providing management direction in a multi-vendor outsourced service provider environment for a similarly sized organization

  • Ability to develop, socialize and execute a strategic roadmap for the areas Devices and Collaboration platforms

  • P&L responsibility > $25M

  • Demonstrated ability to shape and organize a global team

  • Highly developed negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills

  • Experience with various support models and supplier consolidation

  • Strong understanding of cyber security

  • Project management, time management, and conflict resolution/management skills

  • Experience working with global vendors in highly complex environments

  • Modern device management capabilities (imageless laptops, BYOD, Apple, Office 365, new business and support models etc.)

  • Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills

  • Well versed in the most current Data Center technologies including cloud, virtual and private computing
